How to exchange links

Updated

A link exchange on Linkorado takes three steps. Two site owners agree to link to each other, each places a link, and Linkorado checks that both links are there and stay there.

In this guide, RU is the requesting user, the one who asks for the exchange, and AU is the accepting user, the owner of the other site.

1. Request a link exchange

Log in to your account and browse the directory. When you find a site that suits yours, click Request to ask for a link exchange. We e-mail the owner of that site, who can accept the request or decline it.

2. Place the first link

We let you know what the other owner decided. If they accepted, it is your turn: place a link to their site on yours. With our link verification tool you tell us on which page you put the link. Linkorado then checks that page, and the path to it, to make sure the link is there and stays active. The other owner gets an e-mail that the first link is in place.

3. Place the link back

To complete the exchange, the other owner places a link back to your site, the same way. As soon as Linkorado has found and verified this back link, the exchange is complete and you both receive a “Links exchanged” e-mail.

After that, Linkorado keeps checking both links. If one of them goes missing, we let you know.
